Here is a simple wee project I have designed to demonstrate the construction of a door and hanging a door. Made from a bunch of odd timbers from in my garage. The top is Robinia, the sides are Oregon the back is Pine the panel is Elm the door frame is Saligna and the legs are English Plane. The bottom is Rimu

That’s quite a mixed salad of woods! Nice little demonstration project.
Of course by ‘Oregon’, you mean Douglas Fir and Saligna is Eucalyptus Saligna

Thanks Steve. I always referred to the imported very close grain as Oregon and the locally grown stuff (in NZ) as Douglas Fir. But you being a forester I don’t doubt your right. Yes to the Eucalyptus. All my Eucalyptus is gotten through Dennis Hocking of Bulls. You may know him.

Thanks for sharing and taking the time to make a video. Thats a great lesson for a novice such as myself. The different wood species work well together.
