I am in the process of finishing this project.
I designed it on the computer. I used lyptus, walnut, and white oak that i found lyin’ around the shop—that’s exactly why we did this project;to get rid of scrap wood. i cut the strips to my desired length and glued them to gether. then used the table saw and cut the strips to a 1.25 inch length—made me about 20 strips. then i glued them all together end-grain up and after it dried in the clamps over the weekend i chiseled off the glue bubles and sanded it. All i need to do is plug up a hole in my top. Then, I’ve decided to route an indent all along the inside edge of it. After that, I’ll finish sand it and put a couple layers of mineral oil onto it .
