This is my part of a barter deal between Tim Burch and I. He had already given me four 6×6inch beams 16ft long and sawed out many other oak beams given and scrounged from Irene storm damage. The fish, a brown trout is cut out of 3/4 inch ext plywood painted with acrylic colors and sealed with a spar varnish. The banners are ash for contrast to the black painted letters. It is a two sided sign, as you can see in the slight difference in the painting on the two sides. The fish is 4ft long and the whole thing covers a 4ft x4ft area. I know this sounds pretty big but Tim said he wanted something big that wouldn’t be missed as as you drove up to camp. That last picture I just had to add. Thats my grandson and soon to be apprentice Wyatt after his first lesson in the proper fit of the ever present ball cap! The next step in the deal will be the construction of the Timberframe post to hold this sign, made much easier after the recent assembly of our oak trestle ponies.
