When we first moved into our house and I only had a basic wood shop in the basement, I bought a prefabbed table top w/fence from Hartville Designs that was on sale. At that time I was just starting out and just mounted it to a basic 2×4 stand I made up( 1st pic). About two months ago I was bored and was sitting at my workbench looking around and saw the pathetic router table. So w/pocket hole joinery and a little time, I came up w/this. 3/4in. oak ply w/oak face frame. Doors are oak rail and stile w/ 1/4in. oak ply panel. The center compartment is sealed w/foam tape w/a dust port in the back (I had to reinforce it w/an additional piece of 1/4in ply). It’s not perfect, but it is way better than my first table.

Looks great!

I’m drafting up my own design this week, I’ll be borrowing some ideas from yours.

Great job, Jimmy. I also love your sliding router bit storage on the wall. I think I’m going to need to borrow that idea from you.

Keep up the good work!

Nice cabinet.

Glad you were able to solve your wife’s “dust” problem too.
Nice shop!
