A few more boxes that I thought worth sharing. The first is a Curly Redwood box with a top of Fiddleback Walnut. The Redwood came from fellow Lumberjock, RockyB in Redding. The second box is Birdseye Maple with a top framed with Walnut. The third box is some plain Koa with a top of Myrtle Burl that has a natural edge. I did the same quick wash with BLO top try to pop the grain and then Watco Danish Oil. I think I will try some wooden hinges on some of the remaning 11 boxes. I have 2 months before my first show, so I can experiment

Nice work!!

I love making boxes! It’s amazing what you can do with scraps of nice wood that you can’t use anywhere else.

Great boxes! That redwood is a lot more figured than the recycled redwood I found. Go for the wooden hinges but I’ll warn you that they are addictive!

very nice. How many boxes can you bust out in a day? I know some of the boxes I’ve made take me a while, because I make them more complicated than they really are.
