My Brother-in-law asked me if I could build him what he called, “an old fashion Shoe Shine Kit”. Nothing fancy he said, “Just nail a couple pieces of scrap pine boards together”.

Well, most of you know that isn’t possible for a true lumber jock.

The box is constructed of Birch and Walnut held together with hardwood pins and finished with several coats of Wipe-on Poly.

GUY
That is a nice job the way it should be, not just something cobbled together .
It shows pride and craftsmanship .

I think we all cringe when someone asked us to nail a couple of pieces of wood together.

A nicely executed project Guy.

With a little shorter ends, and a piece of large dowel across the top it could also work as a tool box. When I was 5 my pop’s brother (Great Uncle) made me one like that . . . I still have it out in the shop.
