This piece was commissioned by a client to house a receiver, CD player, CD’s and three speakers.

The design of the cabinet was influenced by the placemnt of the speakers (visible in the 1/4 scale model).

Carcass is curly maple veneer on baltic birch core, edges are macassar ebony, construction is multiple dowels.

The cabinet hangs on the wall via a french cleat.

Finish is Don Kondra’s Secret Magic Mix :)

Cheers, Don

Elegant mate. Very nice.

I looked at it and decided that it’s just a nice, clean, neat looking design that won’t stand out too much or too little. I really like it. A sort of minimillistic look but with accents that make it noticable. Nice job. Really.

Love to have one myself ! Great job with just enough accent / contrast to bring the Maple to life.

Veneer over some lovely solid (the best technique!), with perfect bevels and a luminous finish. And here’s to solid dowel and screw construction too. This is a skilled tradesman’s work in very fine form.
Care to share the Magic Mix someday?
