This was my first real attempt at making anything on the lathe. I had done a few practice pieces before making this. The bat is made of Ash which was very hard and dry. Do to my complete inexperience, this turning took me about five hours to complete. I kind of goofed up the taper a little in the middle and the ends aren’t exactly right, but you can still whack a baseball with it :-)
PS: Sorry a few of the pictures are a bit blurry, they where taken with my cell phone.

Looks good, better than anything I can produce on a lathe.

That’s got to be a great feeling making your own bat and taking some swings with it. Nice job!
