a couple of guitar “bowls” that i made recently. i made a template from 3/4 MDF and then used a router and bowl bit to hog them out and then finished the job with a spindle sander and hand sanding. both were made from the same template.
the first bowl is cherry with a thin strip of purpleheart on the top. the third (odd) picture is this particular bowl taken from the side showing the cherry and purpleheart. that particular bowl is fairly thin (roughly 1/4 inch) and roughly 2 inches deep. i finished this one with tung oil. the second bowl is just cherry and as you can probably see this bowl is a little deeper (almost 3 inches) and the sides are a little thicker as well. i finished this “bowl” with salad bowl finish.
thanks for looking :)

sorry….suppose it might help to know how big they are. 22 inches tall and 14 inches wide at the widest spot.

Very cool! I just picked up a bowl bit a couple weeks back, would love to make something like this for my home studio.

I know some people who would go crazy over these. I need to figure out if they are worth it…
