As I mentioned in an earlier post, my youngest son is very musically gifted, but his passion is playing the flute. He has 3 flutes and 2 piccolos: it is all he talks about. I made him stands for his other instruments, so I also had to make him a stand for these. Not much to look at, but it serves the purpose. The stand that holds only 2 instruments was made after I saw him carrying around a plastic stand: what kind of woodworker would allow his son to use a cheap piece of plastic? It is foldable so he can fit it in his case. Now every time he goes to a concert, he proudly sets his instruments on the stage while others set their instruments on their seats or plastic stands.

This is a nice piece, Brian. I am sure that your son is proud of his stand as well. This is a beautiful piece.
thanks for sharing.

Very nice piece Brian. In this day and age it must be a true pleasure to have a son that is interested in something as nurturing as music.

I like the functionality. My youngest daughter is also a flutist, but she has to set hers on a chair. Now you’ve put another project on my neverending list.

Nice project Brian. I’m also a flutist. Put me through college and had scholarship money left over. I’m sure your support means a great deal to your son. Is he going to major in music?

Right now he is a Junior in high school with plans to major in music education and performance. His major and college of choice changes like the direction of the wind. TOday it is Lebanon Valley College, yesterday it was Messiah College, tomorrow who knows yet. I am just glad that he has the desire.
