My wife asked if I’d go to the Home Depot and see if they had any plain shelves that would allow her to stand up all the family photos. I went to the Home Depot and decided to make the shelves. Used white oak again. I kinda like the smell. My system allows the shelf to be made complete and all that is required to hang is to mark the location and drill the holes. If there is a stud I’ll use screws if not I’ll use mollies or toggle bolts. Put a button plug over the mounting holes and that’s it. The first picture shows the shelves on my assembly table. The second picture show them on the wall and the third shows them filled (had nothing to do with that). The finish is original Deft used as a sealer and the top coat is semi-gloss lacquer. The stain is Watco dark walnut.

Bob, you made some nice shelves. I like the finish job you did. The round edges add a soft look. Good job.

Hi Bob,
These are very nice shelves and a vast improvement over what you could purchase at HD or Lowe’s. I like the finish you put on them as well.
thanks for the post.
