"Prayer Changes things" CANE

Here is a cane that I carved for my Mother in Law. It’s carved from Eastern Red (aromatic) Cedar, and I left some of the outer white sap wood included in the carving, to give it a more dramatic effect. It has Praying hands, a crucifix, and the words “Prayer changes things” as part of the carving. I make Walking canes by taking a 2” X 36” dowel and carve everything away except what you see. Then I secure the handle to the carved staff, using a 3/4” X 4” hardwood dowel.

Thanks for looking….

Ed

Very impressive work on this Ed. I’m needing a cane myself, I can do the turning, but I’m afraid the carving is beyond me. Well done!

That is impressive…........Fantastic detail…...........Super….............Love the way you selected the wood, that’s a fun part when you find just the right piece and then the project turns out pretty much just like you wanted…....Very cool…..............
