Replaced old laminated kitchen cupboards with solid hickory. Did not want to change sink base area, so we ordered cabinet fronts only. Worked out great. The only thing was, I had to build by own drawers…and, yes, they are 24” deep. I used a lock joint using the router. Simple to do, only 1 change to router set up. My husband and I also made the oak counter tops next to the stove. We then laminated the walnut, put a simple chamfer edge on it for trim. Counter tops are oiled as a finish. I think that will hold up well, can always be easily touched up. Also put trim on bottom of cabinets. A bit tricky, but well worth the effort. We took our time on this last winter, took 6 weeks doing a wall at a time so I could cook everyday. Waited 25 years for this. Love it!!!

I love hickory, every time I cut it reminds me of barbaque. Very nicely done.

I’ve been wanting to resurface my counter tops with marble paint… I can’t believe I never thought out putting tile down… duh! Thank you for showing yours it give me great ideas! I really like the trim on the bottom; nice touch! I’m building a router table right now so I hope I can make some crown molding or trim similar to yours and dress up my cupboards.

Overall excellent job!

That kitchen came out great, 6 weeks is not that long, I have been working on my kitchen for a year and it’s still not done. Well the kitchen, workshop, basement, bathroom, etc…yea I got a lot on my plate.
