Aspen and weathered wood compose the medium for this bookcase. The familiar aspen fringe is a trademark of my design…not copyrighted. 42” wide 49” tall 18”deep. Decorated for Christmas by my talented wife, at home, in our cabin.

Your bookcase is very nice. I like the ladder in the back corner, also. How is it to work with Aspen? Pluses? Minuses? Utah is a beautiful state. It must be something to live there, I only get to visit.

Rustic furniture – the concept is new to me since becoming a LumberJock member – but it’s growing on me.

In Utah and surrounding states, the Aspen is affecionately known as the Willow. You can have Willows in your yard, you can hike of the left fork of Willow canyon, you can BC- ski in upper, middle and lower Willows of the Wasatch range. The Willows that exist just outside your window, may just be the best. The “Willow” of the Rockies, may just be the most soothing tree in the World…..at least for me!

Populus tremuloides: Quaking American Aspen
