A co-worker of mine asked if I had any wood laying around that I could use to build a picnic table for her grandchildren. Just so happened that I had some leftover pieces of hardwood flooring in the attic of the garage that did the job just fine! Followed a standard picnic table design but shrunk it down to be child sized!! Brought out the woodgrain with a coat of golden oak minwax and finished it off with some waterproof sealer. All screws were predrilled and countersunk and all edges of the table were rounded and smooth making this a very kid friendly table.

Very nice table. The flooring makes a nice flat surface. I have made a few of these myself. I can tell you they are well used and appreciated. those kids will love it forever. (some of mine are on the second generation – scary – I can’t be that old can I?

I don’t think I ever saw these pics before. The table turned out beautifully.
