DVD/CD Cabinet My first attemp ebonizing

I have made a few of these. Just finished one made out of poplar that the customer wanted painted black which I hate to paint wood. After finishing it I thought I would try one out of red oak and ebonize it. I sprayed Solar lux jet black dye with india ink and topcoated with 3 coats of Laquer

That looks really good, I hate to paint wood as well, it takes so much character and covers it up.

-- Martin ....always count the number of fingers you have before, and after using the saw.

Cool cabinet that India ink did the trick. has a very rich look.

Great looking cabinet!

I have been asked to build a changing table to match an ebonized crib. I would love to know more on the technique you used. Its positively beautifull.

That’s a nice look, might have to try that. I just finished a TV stand and painted it black but the look you have there is much better.
