This is Post Contest 2×4 3×5 Box 1 of 2

Finished with Mineral Oil, and Deft spray can Lacquer Gloss.

The center divider was removed because it’s not going to be used for 3×5 cards.

This is for my wife, Deanne, who likes Unicorns.

I placed a Unicorn on the Top… then Wood Burned it.

Great gift Joe, 3X5 out of 2X4 sounds a little fishy. Super box.

Yep… 1 2×4x8’ Stud… 2 boxes… Had about 1.5’ left over…

Resawing: sides @ 1/4” glued-up panels… Top & Bottoms @3/8” glued-up panels.

The Unicorn did kick a little… but we got him! LOL

The woodburning was really my 1st woodburning since I was a kid! It was still FUN!

The Stumpy 2×4 contest was just about a month ago… The construction of my boxes was done in time but could only enter one because I needed only 3 hrs. more to get the second box done. I obviously didn’t have time to apply a Finish to them… That, I just completed today.

Thank you for the nice comments.

Joe, The finished product looks great. What a way to put a simple piece of construction lumber to a good use.

Lovely boxes, Joe. Yes.. 2×4’s can make some great projects. I was given two 2×4’s of solid mahogany a couple of days ago.
