Mr Spoony….as a dear friend calls him,
Had needed a way to brand his spoons. I also need the same thing, so I shuffeled to the shop and dug through a bunch of good ole junk and found an old soldiering iron. It was used in the metal shop classes at a high school we remodeled, after the classes were closed due to lack of funding most of the old tools were thrown away.
Being the junk hound I am saw them and snatched up a couple of these and found they are perfect for this project. Martin- I hope this qualifies as I did add a handle and it was turned on my lathe. :)
I started by flattening the tip, then drew my brand on the end. (see my mistake yet?)
I felt stupid …but hey w/e. Yes it was suppose to be draw in the reverse state so as to brand in the correct direction.
After I realized it was wrong I ground it down yet again and started over. I used the 360,000 rpm Shofu dental tool to remove the unwanted copper and there ya have it ….. a home made brand for the small projects.
