Mr Spoony….as a dear friend calls him,
Had needed a way to brand his spoons. I also need the same thing, so I shuffeled to the shop and dug through a bunch of good ole junk and found an old soldiering iron. It was used in the metal shop classes at a high school we remodeled, after the classes were closed due to lack of funding most of the old tools were thrown away.
Being the junk hound I am saw them and snatched up a couple of these and found they are perfect for this project.
Martin- I hope this qualifies as I did add a handle and it was turned on my lathe. :)
I started by flattening the tip, then drew my brand on the end. (see my mistake yet?)
I felt stupid …but hey w/e. Yes it was suppose to be draw in the reverse state so as to brand in the correct direction.
After I realized it was wrong I ground it down yet again and started over. I used the 360,000 rpm Shofu dental tool to remove the unwanted copper and there ya have it ….. a home made brand for the small projects.
Thanks for viewing

I have to admit, I have made that same mistake myself.
I like it.
Now I just need one of those 360k rpm dental tools and a soldering iron…
coincidentally, my brother in law has nearly the same looking brand for his livestock, his initials are JML.

Shazaam Jim ~ Just how resourceful are you? That was very clever (not the reverse part) and a great use of what you had on hand.
But now the truth comes out… I knew you were cheating with those ‘free’ knots. 360,000 RPM?! That is only about 345,000 RPM faster than mine. grin
-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)
