Steady rest home made.. 2×3 & skate wheels & a few bolts… Works very well. I made 2 & clamped a board on the top with wheels for bowls for about $ 25.00.

Nice work Ted,most of them seem to have three wheels but looks like two work fine.

Interesting.
So only two wheels are needed. The ones that I have seen for metal works has three wheels.
I like to see a video of it.

Steady rest are hardd to find and expensive. I like your idea.

I like this little set up. I may have to try something similar on a Spring Pole Lathe for long spindles. On a Shopsmith to boot!!!! Cool.
