Here’s what I did between Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years. I must preface be saying that I finished this project for some friends who’s father started and got in over his head. He had done some glue ups and machine planing but had no plans and wasn’t comfortable with the joinery. It’s maple (but soft like cherry) finished with blo/varnish mix. It was a fun project and turned out real solid which should give a couple girls a lot of years of service.

It looks great! Those scallops must have been time-consuming to get them all so perfect.

Thanks for sharing.

I was worried about the scallops but made a good template and they came together quick with a sharp router bit. My theory was to use the same template for the headboards and trundle but the accumulated scale was ever so slightly different that it didn’t work (by 1/2”) so I had to make two different templates.
