This house my dad was GC on. It was the first house I trimmed as my own boss. I’m pretty dang proud of it. The three pics posted here are just a taste. Go to my Flickr page to see more of this house, plus some other projects I’ve done. It was tough just picking three for here. :)

The cabinets for the bar are custom built. I built the cabinet doors too, on my router table. The bar on the right is for playing card games. The home owners wanted this area to feel like your favorite neighborhood bar. I think we got it right.

The wine rack was fun. It holds bottles 2 deep, 140 in all. It is built under the staircase, hence the angle on the one side. The cabinet below holds extra beer.

All the trim in the house is Poplar. The cabinets are Maple.

The pictures were taken by my friend John at Coastline Studios. He is amazing at his craft.

Sparky,

I can well understand why you are proud of this job after looking at the pictures of the trim work. The work is gorgeous!!!! Personally, my favorites were the staircase and the wainscoting in the loft area. The trim and molding add nice details to the house.

Thanks for the post.

I like the idea of making it look like a bar, that’s pretty slick! You did a good job and I bet the customers aren’t complaining too much either… thanks for the post.

Beautiful work Sparky. I absolutely love millwork. Did you finish the trim yourself or are you able to purchase it prefinished?
