Turned Maple and Walnut Friction Fitted Lidded Box

I found some 1 1/2” and 2” so I thought I would combine them to make a little box for my wife. Quite a bit of chucking and rechucking to ensure the lid is a friction fit with the base. The base and finial are made of Walnut while the lid is made of maple. Finish is EEE cream and Turners Polish. What are your thoughts?

I really like the shape of the finial but the size is out of scale with the rest of your wife’s little box .
I’m sure the pictures / lighting aren’t doing this proper justice . JMHO : )

You’re right about the size, way too big. That’s the second finial I’ve added to a project and I’m learning how to properly size them for the dimensions of the projects.
