I built this for my son, who loves to play his guitar. When the puzzle is on the stand it stays together, remove it and it falls apart.

Could you post some more picture of it, for example the individual pieces? I’m intrigued as to how you made it so it stays together on the stand.

Unfortunately I cant post more pictures of it, as I sent it down to my son. Here is a link as to how to do it. http://www.woodmagazine.com/woodworking-plans/home/somethings-fishy-key-ring/

Basically it’s the same concept, just instead of using the dowel for the eye, I used the stand rod to hold the pieces together.

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. It makes sense now. Cool adaptation to use the stand as the dowel part. Genius!
