First Bandsaw Box

This is my first attempt at making a band saw box. In fact, this is my first time ever using a bandsaw (just restored a vintage Cummins Mack 14” I bought off Craigslist). Think I’m hooked now.

I made this box from a solid block of Myrtle; the pull is made from a scrap of what I think is Ebony. I stained it with mineral oil and then a coat of polyurethane.

I like the idea of leaving the entry and exit cuts open instead of trying to close them up.
Of all the wood working I have done band saw boxes is not something I have tried in but this open pattern is interesting and I may try it.
