This is a bench that I made for my wife. It is made from California Black oak. The design was taken from an issue of wood magazine. It has an almond stain and is finished with nine coats of Deft Clear Gloss. I also put 1” round chair feet under the legs to protect it from rain or water under the legs and when it is moved. some people like to slide things and feet keep the legs from getting scrapped

Looks very nice. Looks like some benches I used to sell when I worked at a home improvement store

Very nice project Jim. I have a question if you don’t mind. Was the back done with Mortise and Tenon?
Beautiful job!

That is a very nice bench. I like the shape of the back and the beautiful warm colour of the wood.

Jim,

Your bench looks very sturdy and beautifully crafted. The cushion even color-coordinates with your lovely flowers! Thanks for sharing.
