yep, the bottom is beveled 45 degrees and balances with the wine in the right position. A little too far one way or the other and it may tip but it sits pretty stable when it’s in the right position.

I have heard of bottle bass before, is this perhaps the first sighting of the elusive high society wine walleye?

These are very interesting pieces. I would have never guessed what a wine fish was but after seeing your post it is perfectly clear. The stoppers are nice turnings as well.

It’s funny how it works on the premise that once you open the wine, it’s as good as gone. LoL, which I suppose is actually true for fine wines. I’ve never re-corked one.
