First off, I want to thank Andy, Greg, Joey, and all the others who excel at making these boxes. Your boxes are, in my opinion, true works of art and craftsmanship and dedication.

This is my first attempt at using a grinder on a piece of wood. I have been messing with this walnut block for a couple weeks now. The 2nd pic is what it looked like before I took the grinder to it. I’m also still not sure what to do with the left hand side——what to make it? Any suggestions? I’m thinking maybe a ring box. For now it has turquoise colored stone in it. The handle on the right-side box is one-half of a walnut shell.

I sanded the heck outta this thing after I finished with the grinder and then used a scotch pad on it. It has 3 coats of Howards Feed-n-Wax (orange oil) on it and it was “scotched” down between each coat.

All in all, I am pleased with the way it turned out and I do realize now how addictive these kinds of “grinder” boxes will become for me. Thanks for looking.

Now that’s cool. I feel like I should say more, but all I want to do is go look at the pictures some more. Great job

Nice piece, I’ve gotta take the grinder to a box one of these days. Your box came out nice.

Very nice! The swing out drawer is novel. I like it.
It looks like it was a lot of fun to build.
