These Bark frames were quit the project! I matted the pictures myself, then started on the bark frame…my wonderful neighbors, gave me the bark…they were about 18” long & just chunks off the rounds. I then soaked the chunks in water for a couple of days…layed some very heavy weight on them to flaten & dry. Once dried, I cut each end square, and laminated (glued) them to a 6’ piece of thin wood. I then ran it through the table saw at 1-1/2” wide and sandwiched it between 2 pieces of distressed “old wood”. And Viola’ .....Bark Frames. They look really good!

thank you!! Yes Jim…way too much work for what it is. I think I can buy “Bark Shingles” from a vendor through my work. They look very similar to the “chunky bark look”.....they come in 18” by 12’ (or so) squares and are designed to be placed in a gable or sidewall like a shingle. So I may go that route next time.
