In the process of redoing my router table I wanted to do a practice insert cutout, well it turned out really well so I decided to figure a way to use it use it despite it was only 1/2” MDF. I came up with the idea of reinforcing it with full 1”X1 1/2” oak it turned out so well I went ahead and made a fence and vacuum port for it. I had this DeWALT 618 fixed base so dedicated it for this table. I used it in conjunction with my main table on the trim for the breakfast bar.

The last two pic are of my main router table.

Looks good. Is it mounted to the bench by the vise?

One can never have too many router tables or routers, clamps, jigs, saws, chisels, planes…....

Where did you get the other pieces for the table? Like the channels the fence rides in and the fixed base for the router?

Thanks,

Most came from Rockler the baseplate is from my other router table, I bought a Rousseau baseplate for that one and used the old one on my portable table. The table is screwed to the bench top using 3 2 1/2” screws through a 1 3/8” thick x 2 1/2” deep x 8” wide oak block at the rear of the table. The fence is compleatly home grown less the hardware, I will be going over that in a blog shortly.
