This is a credenza I just finished. It is constructed out of Black Walnut and Maple. I got the “floating” idea out of Wood Magazine. I used their method to achieve the floating effect. The base is made out of solid Walnut with the legs tapered on two sides. The body of the credenza is made out of Walnut veneered plywood. I also used plywood for both the Walnut and the Maple triangles on the doors. I stuck with Plywood on the doors to hopefully keep wood movement to a minimum. Unfortunately the plywood for each species was not the same thickness. To cover this I made the “X’s” out of some leftover walnut. Finished with Satin ARM-R-SEAL. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful cedenza, love the wood combinations. Also, very cool decor on the doors and the lift look. Appears to be floating. Nice work.
