This is a rather large limb from a maple tree, it measures 17” across the bend and 45” furthest tip to furthest tip. It was cut with a wood miser band saw all I did was sand all the marks out and finish it, 4 times, before I was happy with it. The last time it got sanded to bear wood was by hand!!

If you look carefully it looks like a relief map.

i love wood grain. What a beauty. Any finish on piece in picture? Show picture with mineral spirits and see what pops.
