Did you ever come up with a really cool idea for a project, get it 75% complete and then think “well, maybe it’s not as cool as I thought” then set it aside and not touch it for 6 months? But I usually always finish what I start so I picked it back up and finished carving. Hadn’t planned on the caption but had the extra room so spent hours googling and searching the net for quotes. Carved the text then set it aside for another few months wondering how to color and finish the thing. All I’ve used on it so far is colored pencils. I think I’m gonna just paint the letters and frame brown, put a clear coat on it and call it complete. Any suggestions would be welcome. I’ve got a really strong urge to flip it over and carve a nude with snakes and skulls on the other side.

It is what it is, you were inspired to create it, there it is, move on….....yea, been there…...

It will look better after a while and you see it alongside your total gallery. After more pieces add up you start to see your work differently. It’s unique to you, that’s what makes it special….............

I think it is a terrific carving and a great and humorous depiction.

Hey it’s a great looking carving. you’ve got detail, a little color; i’d clear coat it; and call it done. don’t paint the frame.
