I’ve recently taken on an ambitious project for a person my age: a chess set/ board. It started out interesting with alot of creating out of my mind but not its just grown monotonous with all the duplicating (i’m lacking a duplicator for my mini lathe, although its on my christmas list :)). But the problems didnt’ come up where i had anticipated them. They occured in the board itself, not the pieces. For detailed experiences, see the individual piece projects.

Welcome aboard MikeyG,
These look great. You seem to have the dupplication pretty well down pat without the duplicator. Are you working on building the board as well? Somewhere on this site is a link to a great way to build a chess board that requires a little less glue up.
