Every year, I donate a “works of heart” to benefit the Memphis Child Advocacy Center. This year, I made an Aspen leaf, made of Osage Orange with a base of Mahogany.
I start with an angle grinder after I rough cut it out with the band saw, then I just start grinding away. This is about 12 inches long and the base about 16 inches long. It can either mount on a wall or sit on a table for display. The silent auction is tonight and everybody keep your fingers crossed that it sells for a LOT. It’s a great cause.

Ellen that is so beautiful.
And what a wonderful reason to make it.
I’ll cross my fingers for a good auction.

I love the color blend of base and leaf. Very nice. The grain selection is a work of art all by itself.
