the wood for this came from a dead limb that i pulled out of a bush in the parking lot at work and cut it down on the bandsaw and planed it smooth down to 1/4 inch thick the sides are tapered in at about 10 deg. so i had to make angle blocks so that the clamps would not slip off and the bottom is 3/32” birch ply-wood that was copper leafed. i used a scratch stock to create the profile around the top edge of the lid except the back edge which i left natural

This is a great creation from some wood that might have otherwise ended up in somebody’s fireplace. Great work!

Great looking box, that wood has so much character and you managed to highlight that well in the finish

Great box, I am working with some now also. I love the look but not that fine dust.

Very nice work. The top piece doesn’t quite look like Cedar, but it does look great. Nice job finishing it. I like the wavy grain in the way you oriented the wood.
