Yup, yet another “I Can Has Cheezburger?” Kitty – Times Three!
The first one was made for our fellow LJ’er Sheila “ScrollGirl” Landry – she loved the first two I made so I decided to surprise her with the one shown in Picture 1. I just mailed it to her and waited for a reply.
The reply came in about a week – all “Thank You’s” and “This is so Precious”. Mission Accomplished! :-)
The other two are commissioned works for a person at my Wife’s job.
The wood used this time is totally unknown and quite literally foreign to me. It comes from Chile and was used to surround a piece of Granite. I rescued the wood from being thrown away. It appears to resemble Maple, but the coloration and wavy patterns are a tad different than the Species we have around Maryland. Any ideas???
Anyway…..... The pieces measure 6×6 inches and are around 1/4” thick.
Finish is a soak in lemon oil and each piece was then glued onto thick felt.
