My sister commissioned me to build a decorative box to house a Directors Baton. It was going to be given to her friend as a birthday gift. It was fairly easy to build. Most of my time was spent building and tweaking the router jig to cut out the space for the baton. One is made from bubinga and the other is walnut. Finished with cherry stain and two coats of poly. Black Velvet cloth was glued to provide some cushion.

Thanks Dennis, yes I seem to end up at MW at least once a week. It’s great having a dedicated woodworking store on Omaha! I got the bubinga from there. The walnut was leftover from another project.
