I built this from rough cut red oak, for the boys as a Christmas present. Beds come apart to make 2 separate twin beds. I used 1/4 in mdf to make a headboard pattern and used a flush cut trim bit in the router to make sure the headboards and footboards were identical. Side rails connect to posts with bed bolts and barrel nuts. Finish is stain and shellac. Built this in the winter, so since my shop isn’t heated, most of my assembly was done in the kitchen. The kids love them!!!
