This potpourri vessel is made from a piece of left over ‘blackheart sassafras’ . It was a bit smaller than what I needed to make a perfectly round piece but I think it turned out OK with a slightly unusual shape.
Finished with 6 coats of wipe on poly and buffed.
‘Blackheart Sassafras’ is an Australian timber from Tasmania.

Thats some great timber. Does it have the rootbeer smell of our Sasafrass

Karson, the sassafras does have an odour but not very strong. Not like ‘camphor laurel’ or ‘juniper’. Camphor has a strong eucalyptus smell, great for clearing the nasal passages & juniper has a sickly perfume that is very strong.
