I have to make a towel rack for the pool, and summer is coming fast in Florida I think I will use your Tree design and base. I like the steady look of it and I can make two for parties. It also looks easy to store for the winter months.
Nice project and Great Ideas.

This is a nice project. You are right about the trees. They are becoming an endangered species. What type of wood did you use for this piece.

Everything I build is made of white oak, QS white oak, red oak, and walnut. I use walnut in all my work because I like the way it shows itself against the oak in craftsman pieces. If you notice, all my finishes are the same, also. I like the way the woods look, and I like the way the woods take that finish. When everything is said and done, you need to be able to step back and personally enjoy your work.

Good looking design. I really like this project, might have to try one myself, but man my list is getting really long.

Looks great – and sturdy! Most of the hall trees I’ve seen have been pretty flimsy. I like the contrasting woods, and how you use them.
