I vertually duplicated Angela’s dust seperator.

Trying to get the groove around the lip of the top was fun. The second picture show’s my method. I don’t know how others would have done it, but it worked very well for me! The frame around the lid is the remains of the original board. So, once clamped in, the lid had no where to go but around. Then it was simply a matter of spacing and viola!

Wow, i actually did something VERY similar with a HF dust collector, sits right on top of the trash can, works great.

I really need to do something like this to my Delta 50-720CT. I just bought 5 new dust bags for $20!!!! Tired of filling those things up. Nice job.

Nice design and execution! I’ve had mine installed, in line with my HF DC, for almost a year. I replaced the dusty top “filter” bag with a Wynn nano 0.5micron canister filter and recommend it. I have yet to remove/empty a bag, but have dumped the 30 gallon Thein separator 4 times.

I find the efficiency surprisingly good probably >90%. AND no larger chips or particles come anywhere near the impeller. Hope this is of help.

What size trash can is that?

I’ve been inspired to add a 2nd stage to my system (1hp delta shopmaster POS) and your set up looks like it would be perfect for me.

Thanks,
JD
