This is the other bowl I worked on this weekend. It was a continuation of working with a lacewood blank from last weekend. I ended up sharpening the gouges about three times each just to get this shape out. It almost reminds me of Marblewood in how hard it is. It came out very nice, and I’m still putting more coats of tung-oil on it to bring out the beautiful grain pattern in the center.

I love Lacewood. This turned out beautiful. What are the dimensions? I’ve had trouble finding Lacewood in bowl blank sizes. Are you just finishing it with tung oil put on as a friction polish? The reason I ask, I’m suprised at how dark the wood turned.

Awesome & great color. I have never used lacewood, but it might be in my future now

-- Martin ....always count the number of fingers you have before, and after using the saw.
