May I Pestle Your Mortar Sir?

Needed a mortar & pestle for the kitchen so decided to practice on the lathe. Anxious to see how the cherry will darken with age.

The mortar is black walnut approx 5” in diameter by 2.25” tall. The pestle is cherry approx. 1.75” in diameter by 7” tall.

Soaked in BLO and rubbed with badger wax.

Completed October, 2011.

Nice job, beats the cheap mass produced one I got from BB&B.
