This is the cradle I made for my daughter who’s due in a few weeks. Given I am under a time crunch and the boss (wife) made a few design changes at the last minute, I went for all out speed on this one. Slats are all joined with biscuits and the ends are screwed and plugged with bubinga. The rockers are joined with sliding dovetails. This was my first time using sliding dovetails and working with bubinga, two firsts that should not have happened at the same time. I ruined a piece of bubinga and it killed me…but you live and learn. Overall I’m happy with how it turned out…and so is the boss.
