two small chests

here are a couple of small chests i made for the wife and her mother for christmas should of done better with some of the joints but ran short on time and had to just let them go.they are walnut from some rough lumber and the secondary wood is poplar( i guess thats how you spell it lol). my first try at dove tails but the box joints were the worst. thanks for looking!

The joints look pretty good to me, we all have the same problem, too critical of our own work. I think they look great:)

The boxes look great and I agree with Martyroc. You would be supprised at how many people don’t see our mistakes and those that do, understand. I am a box joint fan.

Quite unique. It’s a good choice of wood and the finish has come out really well. I like the joinery, overall very solid looking work.

Nice boxes indeed. I agree, look great.

BTW, I made the fishing reel with the plans you sent me. Was a very appreciated gift. A shame I did not take any pictures. Thank you again
