Orange Osage Bowl

Another project finished by a beginner. This is a Orange Osage Bowl turned from a piece of rough orange osage log. The bowl is approximately 4 3/4” round and 1.75” deep. I finished the bowl with triple EEE and Shellawax. The grain is absolutely beautiful.

Great work. I like the mixture of sapwood and heartwood. Nice grain pattern and color.

Beautiful. Haven’t turned OO bowl yet. only a bottle stopper but it aged so beautifully.. a really gorgeous dark golden orange with sparkles… would love to see this bowl in about 6 months.. it should be stunning.

We are currently stockpiling and drying osage – I’ve gotten as far as turning a few barrel shaped wine stopper tops … bowls in the planning stages as things dry! Looking for ideas and inspirations – thanks!
