This is so nice! I have a living room that I would love doing this too, just “gotta” wait for the wife to leave town for a few days ;-P

Planning for a similar project… did you just edgeband the vertical pieces with veneer or what? Any tips you can share regarding layout and what you used for nailers?

Brian: The vertical and horizontal pieces are all veneer, you can buy plywood, be it veneer core or ply core at most reputable cabinet supply shops, some lumber yards. It comes all done up for you.

Any exposed edge was trimmed out with solid cherry and by staggering the beams (longest beam being the deepest) next longest not as deep, so on and so forth, you never get that ugly section where they just dont line up right

hope that helps

Very nice. I’d love to do something like this to add interest in my family room.
