This is a small end table made from pine that I milled myself using my new chainsaw. I cut logs into ~3.5”x5.5”x15” and then milled them down using the table saw and jointer. I didn’t spend much time measuring or squaring anything. Wish I had a band saw :)
I don’t think the wood was really dry enough, but this was just a for fun project for my office that no one but me has to look at. I only spent a few hours on it. I expect it to warp and split before long, especially since I cut the slats so thin. It was fun to whip together.
Stained with minwax dark walnut (rather too heavily) and left unsealed. We’ll see how long it lasts…

Looks good to me. Besides, sometimes those quick projects turn out to be the ones we like the most. In todays complicated world there’s always room for simplicity. Thanks for sharing.
