I built this buffet as a Christmas gift for my wife. It was my first foray into the furniture building arena, and I learned a great deal in the process. If I were to build another, it would take half the time and turn out better. It is made of cherry and cherry plywood (although I think I would use solid cherry throughout next time) and still needs a Polyurethane finish.

Great job on your first… The only thing wrong I can see is she will want a bugger one for more wine stora LOL Well done.

Nicely done!

After finishing the wine cabinet I made, i’ve had a lot of requests for similar but smaller. I like your execution, may have to borrow from that in the future a bit.

If you are ever looking to do something similar but bigger, here’s the one I did for some reference:

Thanks everyone.

Willeh, great cabinet. I too learned more than I thought. Building this thing in two weeks before Christmas really spiked the learning curve too.

Very nice, Gator. Any chance you may have a Sketchup model for this?

Roody, I’m not sure what a Sketchup model is. I have the plans and could scan them in though.

Thanks for the reply, Gator. FYI, Sketchup is a free design program that many use for woodworking design. It has a lot of capability for 3D and 2D visualization. Closest thing to a CAD program for dummies and poor people (me?). You might want to download from Google and take a look. Also Fine Woodworking has info and a blog on it.

If you do have plans that you could send me I would very much appreciate it. Scanned is fine. I love your wine buffet and would like to build one for our home.

Thanks,
Jim
