I had a piece of ash left over from a job so i decided to sit down and doodle on it until i came up with a design i liked. This was the end result. It sits nicely on a mantle piece now and i have got some good comments on it.

It’s a very nice design and done well. You should sit down more often and doodle.

A big warm WELCOME to LJ, Dav. It looks deceptively easy to carve, but I bet it wasn’t! Both your Gothic Leaf and this one are beautiful designs. i would love to see more of them. How is Ireland these days? I would love to visit Ireland someday!

Cheers everyone. It wasnt too difficult. The hardest part was getting a smooth finish as all those curves run over and back striaght grain. I think i spent more time sanding than carving. Ireland is screwd by the way and will stay that way for a long time but dont let that put you off visiting. The people are still friendly and welcoming to any visitors.
